Vishay's digital high-speed optocoupler at Rutronik
Rutronik's portfolio now includes the 25MBd high-speed optocoupler VOIH72A from Vishay.
The digital input and output of the single-channel component enables easy integration into digital systems, makes external driver stages and current limiting resistors obsolete, simplifies designs and reduces costs. The space-saving component combines a maximum pulse distortion of only 6ns, a maximum supply current of 2mA and a supply voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V and is fast enough to support BUS systems such as SPI, as well as controllers for UPS systems or to transmit high-resolution PWM signals.
The optocouplers have no forward current or current limiting resistor at the input and no pull-up resistor at the output and deliver a high-speed data rate of up to 25MBd. They feature digitally controlled LED drivers with high-speed IRED, coupled with integrated optical photodiode IC detectors. The components offer a guaranteed common mode interference immunity (CMTI) of at least 20 kV / µs, which, combined with a low switch-on threshold and low supply current, makes them ideal for noise suppression and the interruption of ground loops.
Suitable for use in an operating temperature range from -40°C to +110°C and installed in a small form factor SOIC-8 package, they are also pin-compatible with solutions from other manufacturers and are particularly suitable for use in new and existing designs for applications in data communication, pulse width modulation or the provision of high-voltage safety in motor drives or automation devices.
