Pico Technology has announced the latest additions to its PicoScope 3000E Series with new entry-level Mixed-Signal Oscilloscope (MSO) models featuring four analogue channels and bandwidth options of 100 MHz and 200 MHz.

Designed for engineers, educators and embedded system developers, these new variants lower the barrier to entry to obtaining the advanced capabilities of the PicoScope 3000E platform at an accessible price point. Building on the success of the high-performance 350 MHz and 500 MHz models launched earlier, these new 100 MHz and 200 MHz oscilloscopes are ideal for applications that demand precision and flexibility, without the cost of higher-end instruments. With deep memory, cross-platform software and optional digital inputs they provide a comprehensive solution for mixed-signal testing and debugging.

Key features of the new PicoScope 3000E MSO models include:

  • 100 MHz and 200 MHz bandwidth options with 5 GS/s sampling rate, the highest available on any USB powered oscilloscope, and 10-bit resolution. These combine to deliver accurate signal capture with low noise, ideal for general electronics, education, and industrial applications.
  • 2 GS ultra-deep memory and segmented acquisition: Capture long or repetitive events with detail and speed up to 2 million waveforms per second.
  • Cross-platform PicoScope 7 software (Windows, macOS, Linux): Intuitive interface with advanced features and free lifetime updates.

The new oscilloscopes also boast four analog channels + optional 16 digital inputs to provide the flexibility to simultaneously analyse both analogue and digital signals—perfect for working with microcontrollers, FPGAs and other mixed-signal systems.

Also included is a 200 MS/s, 14-bit AWG/function generator to generate complex analogue signals for testing and simulation without external equipment.

A USB 3.0 Type-C interface enables fast data transfer and removes the need for an additional power source.

40+ serial protocol decoders are included as standard, including I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, LIN, FlexRay and USB—ideal for embedded development.

Advanced triggering, math and measurements include powerful tools such as DeepMeasure, automated pass/fail testing, waveform masks and more.

PicoSDK enables developers to integrate the oscilloscope into custom Windows, macOS and Linux applications.

Alan Tong, Managing Director at Pico Technology, commented: "These new models offer all the performance and flexibility engineers expect from the PicoScope 3000E Series, but at lower bandwidths that better suit many everyday applications. Whether you're designing, debugging or teaching they deliver professional-grade capabilities without compromise."
